Metro Vancouver's regional growth strategy drew inside criticism from city councillors. Metro Vancouver staff originally planned to have the draft regional growth stategy approved by July, however councillors maintain that planning for the 2010 Olympics will require the approval process to be pushed until early 2010. The objectives of the regional growth stategy were also criticized for failing to meet some of its objectives, such as concentrating employment in town centres and identifying key transit corridors.
