Surrey students force Mayor Dianne Watts to deal with pesticides

A group founded by Kwantlen Polytechnic University students played a key role in Surrey Mayor Diane Watts' decision to impose a trial ban on cosmetic pesticides. Efforts by Love Your Enviromen - Eliminate Pesticides (LEEP) drew attention to Surrey council's hesitation to ban the use of these harmful chemicals, and have successfully persuaded council to take action.
