Now, more than ever, Canadians count on Premiers' leadership to reduce poverty

Recent polls have shown that Canadians want government leadership to help deal with the stresses of the economic recession and resulting poverty. There is a leadership void at the federal level, so the responsibility of dealing with poverty and unemployment falls on Canada's Premiers. Improved availability and access to provincial programs such as Employment Insurance, social assisstence and food banks are needed to reduce and prevent poverty.
