Toolkit to help small and mid-sized communities plan sustainable transportation
Transportation Demand Management: A Small and Mid-Size Communities Toolkit from the Fraser Basin Council
The TDM toolkit offers insights on how to expand transportation options and reduce overall vehicle use in your community. The toolkit has case studies to illustrate successful bicycle and active transportation programs, intercommunity transit, carpooling, car-sharing and parking strategies. The toolkit is a part of the Fraser Basin Council’s Transportation Demand Management for Small and Mid-Size Communities program to assist BC local governments – in particular those serving communities under 150,000 people – in planning sustainable transportation systems. Sustainable transportation offers multiple benefits, including the opportunity to save money, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and improve the quality of life for residents. www.tdm.bc.ca
