Burnaby mayor Derek Corrigan thinks that the potential development of a rapid transit system down Broadway has made Vancouver politicians blind to the funding constraints currently facing the regional transit authority. He supports Translink's base plan for 2010, which aims at eliminating debts while maintaining service. Vision Vancouver however voted in favour of a more expensive plan, called "On Track to a Sustainable Region", which is designed to expand rapid transit. Read the full story in
