Forest companies gain legal traction for tax revolt

The B.C. Supreme Court ruled that the City of Campbell River cannot boost its tax rate for forest land. The decision comes after the city increased industrial tax rates for forestry companies in an attempt to ease taxes for other industries. TimberWest Forest Corporation's $1.2-million tax bill will now be the responsibility of the City of Campbell River. Read the full story in The Globe and Mail.
