Survey highlights the importance of a musical education

While music programs are often the first to get cut when school districts face funding shortfalls, a new survey by Ledger Marketing has shown that the benefits of a musical training: heightened mental focus, enhanced creativity, improved confidence and ability to self-teach, may contribute to higher levels of post secondary enrollment. According to the poll, 69 percent of students with a musical education pursue a postsecondary education compared with 59 percent of students without any musical training.
